Tutoring Services
Sharon Leibowitz is an enthusiastic and experienced Special Education Teacher with over 25 years experience catering for Primary and Secondary students with individual differences.
Over the years, she has taught children with a wide variety of learning challenges including difficulties with mathematics, literacy, executive function (planning and time management), Attention Deficit Disorder, auditory and visual processing difficulties and working memory difficulties.
She uses her experience and qualifications to assess specific tutoring needs and adapt a program suitable for the individual student.
Diagnostic testing is used to obtain the student’s basic learning profile.
Specialised intervention strategies are individualised to suit the learning needs of each student’s style and pace. Explicit Instruction is skill based, but students are active participants in the learning process.
Tasks that are highly motivating are aimed at the student’s level of interest and understanding. This increases self-confidence and promotes persistence.
iPad apps are used to reinforce skills learnt.
