Programs
Early Intervention:
Appropriate early intervention is more effective and less expensive than later remedial or compensatory programs.
Phonological awareness:
A standardised phonological awareness assessment allows for early identification of children who are ‘at risk’ of later reading and spelling problems.
The explicit direct teaching model:
Explicit Instruction is skill based, but students are active participants in the learning process. Specialised intervention strategies are individualized to suit the learning needs of each student’s style and pace. Tasks that are highly motivating are aiming at the child’s level of interest and understanding. This increases self-confidence and promotes persistence. iPad apps are used to reinforce skills learnt.
